GENERAL CHIMP'S TOURNAMENT RULES

Entry Fees are $5 per person. Booster Draft and Sealed Deck tournaments are $5 plus the price of packs.

Tournaments are non DCI. They are strictly house tournaments and are meant for fun.

Every tournament starts at 12:00 Noon on the day posted.

Sideboards must be 15 cards at all times. You may only switch cards with your sideboard before games 2 or 3. Game 1 must be your normal deck.

Deck sizes must be at least 60 cards unless otherwise noted.

Tournaments are "Swiss Style" tournaments. This means that you will play 4 to 5 rounds of 3 games per round. You must play all 3 games. The top 2 to 4 people will be put into either the semifinals or the finals. (Bracket system will be used on tournaments that get too big for our space allowed.)

Doubles tournaments are 2 on 2 games. Each player has their own 20 point life total. You are allowed 2 passes per game. These passes can be cards in play or in hand. They are instantaneous and can not be countered.

Emperor tournaments are 3 on 3 games. To win the game, you must defeat your opponent's "Emperor". You can not attack them directly, but you can cast spells on them. The "Emperor" can attack either of his opponent's 2 guards. Each side is set up in the following order: Guard, Emperor, Guard. The Emperor can only be directly attacked when he has lost one of his guards. Each player may attack up to two spaces from their seat, but they can not skip past a Guard. You are allowed to pass cards in hand at any time. You can also "March" cards in play to a partner. Marching causes the card to tap. It has to be untapped to do this. The card can only move one player at a time. Any questions, feel free to call or email us.

Creatures of the Night tournament is for deck to consist of only creatures and land cards from the extended sets.

CHAOS! for Christmas is a total chaos tournament. The entire tournament is just one big game. You can only attack to your left or right. You can however cast spells on any player. After the first 3 turns for each player has passed, the "God" deck gets to take turns. This deck will play cards that affect everyone in the game. These cards can not be countered or redirected in any way. All you can do is try to survive. This deck will be used once each time it hits its turn. This deck will not kill you, it has good and bad effects in it. The cards will NOT be announced ahead of time. You will know when the card is played.

Booster drafts are when you buy 3 booster packs. Everyone will set at a table and open 1 pack at the same time. You will choose 1 card to keep and pass the rest to either the right or left depending on which way the cards are going. You keep doing this with this pack and the following two until all cards are distributed. You will then build a deck out of these. Deck sizes must be at least 40 cards. The remaining cards are your sideboard.

Sealed deck tournaments consist of 1 tournament pack and 2 booster packs. You will then open your tournament pack at the same time as everyone else. After you have looked at the cards, put them back in the box. We then draft the 2 booster packs. You will be given time to check what you drafted after every pack. After the drafting is done, you will then build your deck. Deck sizes must be at least 40 cards. The remaining cards are your sideboard.
